Our Educational Approach
Red River Microschool offers a holistic approach to education that balances academic rigor with creativity, outdoor exploration, and hands-on experiences.
Nature-Based Learning
Nature is an essential classroom. Students spend regular time outdoors observing, exploring, building, and learning through experience. Nature study, free play, and outdoor projects foster curiosity, resilience, and stewardship.
Literature-Rich Education
We place a strong emphasis on quality literature, storytelling, and rich language. Through read-alouds, narration, and discussion, students engage deeply with ideas while developing strong comprehension and communication skills.
Hands-On & Project-Based Learning
Children learn by doing. Our days include experiments, art, building, practical life skills, and creative projects that connect learning to real life. This approach supports different learning styles and encourages problem-solving and independence.
Faith-Centered Foundation
Our school is grounded in Christian values. Faith is woven naturally into our daily rhythm through character development, gratitude, service, and age-appropriate spiritual reflection.
Small Class Size
With an intentionally small class size of 12 students, teachers are able to truly know each child and meet them where they are academically, socially, and emotionally.
