Yes, for this year, there are limited part-time seats available. Your child would attend back-to-back days (either Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday) to support continuity and any materials going back and forth. As a parent, you would be expected to homeschool using the same curriculum on the days your child does not attend. Our curriculum builds on itself, and missed materials will confuse the child and make it difficult for the teacher. We offer a part-time commitment because we want families to have flexibility; however, part-time does carry a high parent responsibility to ensure your child is not left behind.
Yes. Families enrolled at Red River Microschool are legally classified as homeschooling in the state of Kentucky.
Parents submit a simple letter of intent to the local superintendent. Students then meet Kentucky’s required instructional hours and days through attendance at the microschool program.
In other words, parents maintain homeschool status, but the instructional requirements are fulfilled through participation at Red River Microschool.
